About me
Introduction:
My name is Oliver Liewald, born in 1983 and since my first Thailand vacation in 2012, the gentle giants have never let go of me.When I became aware of the abuses of elephants and their living conditions in Southeast Asia during my first vacation trip to Thailand in 2012, I became more and more committed to the elephants in the following years.
How it all started
After a turbulent year in 2018 with serious changes in my private life, I decided to take a break and work on site as a volunteer in Thailand for a few weeks. These experiences made a lasting impression on me and changed my personality.
Back in Germany, I finally joined the club in April 2019 Future for Elephants eV. and I have volunteered for the pachyderm association till the end of 2020.
Due to my numerous trips to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar) in recent years and the experiences there, I feel very connected to the projects of Lek Chailert and the Save Elephants Foundation, that's why I dealt with the topic of Southeast Asia in the Elephant club and give lectures about my experiences from time to time.
In summer 2019 the idea arose to make the projects of Lek Chailert better known in Germany and find ways to support them.
As a result of these thoughts “Ant & Elephant” was born.
